WEEK 4

INTRODUCTION

A hands-on introduction to film editing, where participants learn how to organise footage and shape a story through cutting, sequencing, and sound.

TOPICS COVERED

WHAT TO EXPECT

💻 Organising & Preparing Footage

Participants are introduced to editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, learning how to import and organise clips before editing. They build a clear workflow by labelling and arranging footage on a timeline while understanding the difference between A-roll and B-roll.


✂️ Building the Edit

Participants learn how to cut and combine clips to create a clear visual narrative. They experiment with trimming footage, sequencing shots, and using B-roll to support and strengthen their main story.

🔊 Refining with Sound & Footage

Participants develop basic audio editing skills, adjusting sound levels and creating smooth transitions. They enhance their edits by incorporating additional footage, resulting in a more polished and cohesive final piece.
