    Our Mission

At Fowoyede Studios, we don’t just tell stories - we unlock voices.

We are a collective of creatives rooted in the communities we serve. The stories we help bring to light are not distant from us — they are our stories too. We understand what it means to feel unheard, overlooked or misunderstood, and we are committed to changing that.

We believe that every voice carries power. Through film, photography and digital media, we create spaces where people can speak, create and be seen - on their own terms. We use creativity as a tool for expression, connection and transformation, turning lived experiences into powerful visual narratives.

Our work exists to amplify the voices that are too often ignored - to challenge perspectives, break down barriers and spark real conversations within our communities and beyond.

    This is more than storytelling.
This is about ownership, visibility and change.

Voices Through The Lens

Voices Through the Lens is a community-focused creative media project designed to bring people together through theraputic storytelling and creative expression.

The project will support neurodivergent and neurotypical young people, as well as individuals facing disadvantage, by providing access to creative workshops in film, photography and visual arts. Participants will be encouraged to explore and share their lived experiences in a safe and inclusive space where creativity can support wellbeing, confidence and personal development.

By working collaboratively and sharing their stories, participants will build meaningful connections with others in their community while challenging stereotypes and increasing understanding of different life experiences.

The project will culminate in a community showcase, celebrating participants’ work and creating opportunities for wider audiences to engage with local voices and stories.

How the sessions work

Voices Through the Lens is delivered as a 16-week programme, split into two groups to support different age ranges:

  • Ages 9 –16

  • Ages 18+

Each group takes part in an 8-week course, with weekly 1.5-hour sessions.

During the first four weeks, participants learn the fundamentals of filmmaking, including storytelling, planning a project, filming techniques and basic editing skills.

In the final four weeks, participants put these skills into practice by working together to create their own short film. Participants collaborate in small production teams, taking on roles that match their interests and strengths such as directing, camera work, acting or editing.

By the end of the programme, each group will have created a short film that reflects their creativity, ideas and lived experiences.
